Bavuma gets a chance to improve his game

The coach of the national cricket team, Mark Boucher, said that his captain, Temba Bavuma will be given the opportunity to improve his game before the start of the T20 World Cup.

Bavuma has been the subject of criticism from South African cricket fans due to his inability to make visible runs in the national team’s matches.

Boucher said this after the Proteas was beaten by India 2-1 in the test matches that ended earlier this week. In this week’s matches between South Africa and India, Bavuma was not included, but Boucher said it was due to illness, not the way he played in recent matches.

“Temba wants to play to try to improve the way he plays. It was just a stroke of bad luck that made him miss the previous one-day games. I think it is the right time to get his game back on track,” said Boucher who will step down as Proteas coach after the T20 World Cup.

Since he was given the role of captain, Bavuma has not been able to do a good job in the T20 matches, but for some it was an opportunity to call for his removal as the captain of the national team.

South Africa will leave India for Australia, where they will play two warm-up matches before the world cup.

“The state of the games we are going to will allow Bavuma to find his feet. We will try to support him he can find his way of playing that he is known for. Bavuma is our captain. He should be given all the support he deserves,” Boucher proclaimed.

Although there is some noise made by some people in the game of cricket, it is expected that Bavuma will lead the team when they go to the world cup this year.
