Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa’s national cricket team, has silenced his critics after scoring 109 runs earlier this week. This occurred during a one-day series in which South Africa defeated England by five wickets. The visitors scored 342 runs but lost seven wickets. South Africa batted and scored 347 runs in response. Temba Bavuma alone scored 109 runs in a little more than a hundred balls. Bavuma has not played like that for the national team in a long time.

The pressure on his shoulders has lessened. His poor performance in previous matches made him a target for critics, who objected to his appointment right away. Bavuma’s strong performance is influenced by his new coach, Shukri Conrad, with whom he has previously worked. Bavuma was able to clear his mind following the game at Mangaung Oval.

“These last few months have been extremely trying. But I believe that confiding in the coach, who I told about where I see myself in my game, helped me,” He stated this after the game.

“It helped me a lot because I’d previously worked with Shukri. He was the one who assisted me and showed me how to deal with the noise. He made sure I was focused on the game and not on anything else.

“Listening to me and accepting what I told him helped me. It’s important to be mentally prepared for the game. In our conversation, I was impressed by his clear approach,” said Bavuma, who admitted that the pressure was too much but accepted it as part of being a key player of the national team. South Africa defeated England 2-1 in the one-day series.
