Chiefess Nomlindelo Dondashe (53), the leader of the Council of Ngqusi Chiefs in Centane, will be buried on Saturday, December 3 in Sintsana village in Centane.
Her body was discovered on Wednesday last week near the forest of Theko Fihla in Centane.
According to the report, she left her home in Nxaxho village, Ward 26 of Munquma Municipality, to go to town and never returned.
According to Captain Siphokazi Mawisa’s statement, the body was discovered by TVET students who reported it to the police.
The Chiefess’ body was discovered with bullet wounds to the upper body, and she died at the scene.
The killing of Chiefess Dondashe is shocking, according to the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Chiefs.
The Eastern Cape House of Traditional Chiefs said that Dondashe was a meeting participant who always fought for safety and village care.
This Chiefess, who was also a member of Amathole’s Council of Chiefs, has led by example, and her experience and knowledge have greatly aided the local Chiefs.
The House of Traditional Chiefs in the province extended its condolences not only to the Dondashe family, but also to the Amathole Local House and the entire Tshawe clan.
Anele Ntsangani, the Amathole District Municipal Mayor, expressed his condolences to the family, saying that law enforcement should play its role in apprehending the perpetrators.
Her memorial service was held on Monday this week, and the Chiefs of the province, as well as the Deputy Minister of State Security Zizi Kodwa, a Centane native, attended.
Centane’s 16 Days of Activism Against Women and Children Abuse campaign kicked off this weekend.
