Ahead of a crucial game this weekend, Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids has issued a warning to Orlando Pirates. Davids believes his team would battle with all their might in all of the forthcoming matches, despite the fact that Maritzburg lost after being defeated by Kaizer Chiefs by a score of 2-0 in the Nedbank Cup encounter.

Tomorrow at 7pm, Pirates will play host to the Team of Choice in a DStv Premiership match at Orlando Stadium. Even though Davids will fight for his honour when he encounters the team he led last season, the most essential thing for Maritzburg going forward is to avoid relegation.

In 19 games, the team has accumulated 21 points. The DStv Premiership is in its second phase, with Marumo Gallants at the bottom of the table. Fadlu Davids and his team are focused on one thing now that they have missed the Nedbank Cup.

“Despite the fact that Chiefs defeated us, we are prepared to fight. We have talked about the significance of unity recently, and that’s exactly what we need to do from now on,” said Davids after being defeated by Chiefs in a recent encounter at Harry Gwala Stadium.

“Even though we did not do well in the game when we played Chiefs, we still intend to get ready for the coming battle. The players need to have confidence in themselves and remind themselves that they can handle any team. I am familiar with the Pirates’ players. However, due to the fact that it has a new coach, we must analyse it,” said Davids.

Following their victory over the All Stars in the Nedbank Cup encounter, the Buccaneers are fired up. It is anticipated that players like Monnapule Saleng and Thembinkosi Lorch would aid Pirates, who will compete for three points to move up to third place in the DStv Premiership.
