Dead tavern owner found with drugs

Thabo Justice Bheja (42) of Sweetwaters in King William’s Town, the owner of a tavern, was shot dead by three unknown men when he stopped at a corner in Fleet Street in King William’s Town.

Bheja died instantly while riding his scooter.

Bheja was shot on Sunday afternoon, according to Warrant Officer Majola Nkohla. Following the shooting, police were called to Fleet Street in King William’s Town and discovered Bheja dead with bullet wounds.

According to Nkohla, a bystander was accidentally shot and rushed to the hospital.

At the scene, police also discovered mandrax, black powder in a plastic bag, an undisclosed amount of money, and a gun.

According to the report, this was not Bheja’s first time being caught with drugs on him. Drugs were discovered inside his tavern in August of this year, and he was arrested and released on bail. Police discovered the drugs in his home after responding to a call about two people being shot dead in his tavern by unknown people.
