The Biathle-Triathle World Championships, which are being held in Portugal, got underway on Wednesday, and Esona will be representing the province and the country there by demonstrating her abilities.

The competition will be ending on Monday, October 31.

The BCM Deputy Executive Mayor Councillor, Princess Faku said, “We want to thank Esona’s parents. To us, Esona, you are already a champion, we are proud of you, and you are a brave young girl. BCM has decided to fund Esona’s trip with R24,000,” said Faku

Andisiwe Sekeleni, Esona’s mother, said their child has made them proud and they are happy for her. “Esona is a quiet child but excels in sports. I thank you all for your support and for making Esona’s journey possible. May God bless you all,” she said.

For the past few months, Esona’s trip has been making waves on social media, with people making fun of the trip’s expenses. The young athlete is now living her dream of competing in the Biathle World Championships.
