There are five unidentified bodies of men in Butterworth in various places.
The police in these areas are urging anyone who has a missing relative to identify them otherwise go to the police station in Msobomvu township.
According to Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, an investigation was carried out to try and find the family members of the deceased, but they were in vain.
Body 1: human remains were found near Gcuwa Dam in April 2021.
Body 2: he was found near Highway Lodge in August 2021.
Body 3: he is an elderly man who is estimated to be 70 years old. He was found alive but sickly and was rushed to the hospital by the residents, where he died without saying who he was and from where.
Body 4: he was found near the old PEP building in November 2021, he died after being hit by a car going towards Centane.
Body 5: he is 28 years old; he was hit by a car on the N2 highway near the BlueSky village during the festive days of December 2021.
An investigation has been opened by Msobomvu police. It is requested that anyone with a missing relative who can assist in matching the bodies of these men, to call Ndingaye who is the Captain of the Msobomvu detectives in Butterworth.
