Former education official will be added to sex offenders register

According to the National Prosecuting Authority, Louis Pepping (58), a senior member of the church, a former senior official in the Department of Education, and the father of four children, has not expressed remorse for raping a six-year-old child.

After being found guilty of raping a six-year-old girl, Pepping from Ngobozana in Lusikisiki was given a life sentence by the Mthatha High Court on Friday. He will now spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Four more years were added to Pepping’s sentence for the charge of molesting a 15-year-old girl in 2021 while he was on bail for the rape charge.

On September 1, 2019, the child (age 6) left home to buy sweets at a shop in Ngobozana. It was discovered that she was taking too long to get home, and when she was located, she was trembling and bleeding from the vagina.

According to Luxolo Tyali, a spokesman for the NPA, the court took notice of Pepping’s lack of remorse throughout the trial. He asserts that Pepping is educated, in a more powerful position, and ought to have known better. Louis Pepping’s name has been mandated to be added to the national sex offenders registry.

Barry Madolo, director of public prosecutions, noted that the collaboration of the residents, the police, and the court was a key factor in this case’s success.
