Foster makes imprint on Kompany’s team

The South African football player’s effort was complimented by Burnley coach Vincent Kompany, who also gave an explanation of why he wanted the player at the start of the year.

Following his transfer from K.V.C. Westerlo last month for a cost close to R200 million, Lyle Foster officially joined the English team. In the four games that Foster, 22, has played for his new team, he has significantly improved his performance. He played in all four of the games, starting one and substituting in the others.

According to Kompany, who spoke to Burnley Express TV, he is very pleased with the short-term progress made by his new player and insisted on his early arrival in England because he wants him to become used to the team’s playing style and procedures.

This South African footballer is in the capable hands of Belgium’s Kompany, who excelled at Manchester City, winning four English Premier League titles. “This is the reason I wanted these players right away at Burnley. They need to adjust to how the game is played here as soon as possible. He is talented, and it is clear what he will contribute as one of our players,” Kompany recently stated following the game.

“I was really impressed with the way he played, particularly when we were under pressure. He’s amazing when he has the ball, but I am not too concerned about him losing possession of the ball in the last game since that will be remedied by the influence of other players in the camp.

“We’ll let him [Foster] do his thing. We’re not going to compel him to play our way. Rather than waiting until the end of the season to bring him aboard, we decided it was preferable to take him now,” stated Kompany, who has led Burnley through 33 games and only suffered defeat twice.

Foster might play in the English Premier League the next year because Burnley is doing well in the English Football Championship.
