Gqeberha can now listen to TruFM on 91.0

Manager of TruFM, Loyiso Bala and House DJ, Mobi Dixon.

The manager of TruFM, Loyiso Bala, believes that the station’s presence in Gqeberha and the surrounding districts will increase the number of listeners and revenue.

He was speaking with I’solezwe lesiXhosa after the event last week to introduce TruFM to the people of Nelson Mandela Bay.

“This will help us meet the needs of the Eastern Cape youth by introducing interesting programs and effective initiatives that will empower our youth to move forward,” said Bala, who joined TruFM as Manager last year.

TruFM on 91.0 can be heard in Gqeberha, Kariega, Despatch, Jeffrey’s Bay, and Humansdorp.

“If someone travels from Humansdorp to Bizana, they can listen to TruFM, but they can’t listen anywhere else due to the network.

“Although we would like to have broadcasting poles in those areas as well, we are still focusing on 91MHZ to increase the number of listeners and income before expanding to these areas,” said Bala, a Kariega native.

He stated that they are currently finalising plans to introduce this youth station to a new audience.

“We also intend to visit universities next year in order to bring our station closer to its target audience.”

According to this Manager, TruFM’s main goal is to be the leading regional station in the entire Eastern Cape.

On Friday, the Boardwalk in Gqeberha hosted the launch ceremony for this broadcasting signal.
