Musician who is also an infamous actor, Nay Maps, is switching things up as he has released his first song as a musician, showing his fans his enchanting singing voice.

Nay Maps’ song is titled I’ll Be There. Talking to I’solezwe lesiXhosa, he says he made this song after noticing the change in relationships between friends, lovers, or family members.

“That is when I decided to compose this song because I realized that all we really have is our voice. Especially in a world where love is fake or everything is not what it seems, all we have is each other’s voice,” said Nay Maps.

This star believes if someone promises to do something, they should keep their promise. Nay Maps says he noticed this in his previous relationship. He says his partner always felt insecure in their relationship because he got attention from other women.

“This made her feel unimportant, and afraid of losing me. So, by making this song, I am saying that no matter how it is, I will always be there. No matter what happens, I will be there. Trust me when I say that I will never leave, that is the truth,” said Nay Maps, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphalala.

He says he has a lot of songs on the way including an album.

Nay Maps started singing when he was in high school. He says that his parents were also singers, and they liked making him sing with his sisters.

He says when he got to high school, he learned how to play the piano.

“My friends urged me to enter a music competition that was going to be held at school. I was chosen as one of the outstanding acts in that competition which had music and acting.”

Nay Maps says he dreams of becoming a world-famous singer and music producer from the Africa.

He mentioned musicians like Jay Z, Beyoncé, Black Coffee, Drake, H.E.R, Kehlani, Lucky Daye, Musiq Soulchild, Snoh Aalegra, Chris Brown, DJ Maphorisa, Kabza de Small as some of the musicians he would love to work with.

He says his song is available on all digital music platforms.

Nay Maps also says that music helps him heal his emotional wounds.

This KZN native has starred in TV shows such as Generations, Muvhango and The Queen.

Nay Maps also revealed that he is busy preparing for the second season of Umkhokha.
