Madeira Police survive knife attack!

An unknown man with a knife tried to stab the Madeira Police in Mthatha town while they were busy doing their work at the station.

This incident occurred after 6pm on Sunday, January 8.

According to Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, the suspect (31) died inside the station after the attack.

The knife that the suspect used has been preserved. Kinana says that the officers were not injured and that they received counselling.

According to the report, the suspect began by causing trouble at his home before going to the station. After stabbing his mother, he fled his home, and his cousin forcibly took a bag containing money, bank cards, and phones, which were also taken from him by the police.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nomthetheleli Mene, was shocked by the incident and urged all police officers to be vigilant at all times while on duty.
