Magistrate killers still wanted

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting and death of a 38-year-old woman who worked as a Magistrate at Mount Ayliff Magistrate Court.

The Eastern Cape’s Acting Commissioner of Police, General Thandiswa Kupiso, had issued an order for the immediate arrest of those who shot the woman.

The woman was travelling with her husband and their two children, a 13-year-old son and a 10-year-old son, when they were attacked with a gun by unknown people, according to a police report.

This family was attacked on Saturday while returning home from dropping off their mother.

According to Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana’s report, the family was attacked by a white Range Rover car that pretended to be passing by before opening fire on the family’s car.

This occurred in the Nomlacu area, near the Faith Mission church.

The magistrate died instantly, the 13-year-old son was injured, and the 10-year-old child was not injured. The husband was shot in the lower body, but he did not stop and continued driving to seek help at the nearest hospital.

The police have opened an investigation. So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police at 08600 10111 or their local station.
