‘Messi is the problem for the Netherlands’

The Netherlands’ centre-back, Virgil van Dijk, has warned his teammates about the dangerous Lionel Messi ahead of the highly anticipated match between the Netherlands and Argentina.

The two countries will compete for a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar when they meet tomorrow at 9 p.m. at the Lusail City Stadium.

In the previous match, the Dutch defeated America 3-1, while Argentina defeated Australia 2-1. Argentina, without a doubt, is the obstacle that the Netherlands must overcome in order to claim the trophy that they lost in 2010 in South Africa after being defeated 1-0 by Spain at the FNB Stadium in the finals.

Van Dijk must remain alert throughout the game in order to avoid being punished by Messi, who is attempting to win the World Cup before retiring from football.

Van Dijk issued a warning because he is aware of the damage Messi, who plays for PSG in France, can cause.

“When they attack us, it’s the most difficult. He likes to be alone in the corner. The players in the back must keep an eye on him at all times,” Van Dijk, who plays for Liverpool FC in England, made the statement.

“Argentina’s players look to him when the going gets tough. This means that we must devise a strategy to overcome it as a group because no single person can do it alone,” Van Dijk stated.

Messi saved his country in the previous match by scoring an important goal in his 1000th game as a footballer. The Netherlands’ coach, Louis van Gaal, has stated that he intends to limit Messi in tomorrow’s game.

“I won’t tell you now, but you’ll see on Friday,” Van Gaal said.

“Messi is the most dangerous player because he can both create and score goals. But he did nothing when Argentina lost the ball. This will provide us with opportunities to harm Argentina.

“I have been saying for a long time that we have the potential to be world champions because we have the resources,” Van Gaal explained.
