Heritage Day on September 24 is a day to celebrate the richness of our heritage and the diversity of our culture. This day is set aside in the South African calendar to celebrate with traditional dances, songs, and eating cultural food.
Gqeberha is not left out of the celebrations as Mahambehlala Communications will be hosting an All-White Heritage Day Picnic at Victoria Park.
Beloved musicians such as Zonke Dikana, Nomfundo Moh, Ntsika, Bongeziwe Mabandla, and Putuma Tiso will perform on stage.
The organisers say that the theme for this event is white with a touch of cultural.
“The aim is to celebrate culture while creating income generating opportunities for our musicians, small businesses, vendors, garages, restaurants and hotels on this day as we will receive an influx of guests,” said Marc Mahambehlala, the Marketing Manager at Mahambehlala Communications.
He says there will also be traditional food for sale on the day as well as a market with traditional handicrafts, jewellery, traditional clothing designers and so on.
“This is one of the concerts that cultivate the Ebubeleni Festival in December,” said Mahambehlala.
Mafa Bavuma of Mhlobo Wenene will host the event alongside Mmeli Notsh and Makaziwe.
Mahambehlala Communications is grateful to its partners who contributed to the picnic, including the National Lotteries Commission, the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency and Nkqubela FM.
Tickets are available at Webtickets, Pick ‘n Pay and Boxer for R295.
This event starts at 11am until 6pm.
