Parents reject Enyobeni results

The owner of Enyobeni tavern, which saw deaths of 21 teenagers back in June, Siyakwamkela Ndevu together with his wife Vuyokazi Ndevu, appeared in the East London Magistrate Court on Friday, September 2.

According to a statement from the spokesperson of the National Prosecuting Authority in Eastern Cape, Luxolo Tyali, Vuyokazi was added as one of the suspects because she is a registered licensee of the establishment.

Tyali says that they are both facing the same charges, that of selling alcohol to children under 18 years of age, and that of selling alcohol that was found to be dangerous by the lab in Cape Town.

Their case has been set for October 5 and preparations will be made for the start of the case.

Meanwhile, the parents are complaining as they are not satisfied with the results revealed on Thursday, that the cause of death of the children was suffocation, which was rejected before.

Parents say they are being fooled by the government. They also complained about not being allowed inside the court because it is said that there is no space.
