Pitso Mosimane says he wants to lift the Afcon

Pitso is in no rush to return to coaching after leaving Al Ahly weeks ago. He told reporters this recently after he was awarded his coaching certificate (CAF Pro Licence) by the President of Safa, Dr. Danny Jordaan.

Mosimane is now the only coach in South Africa who has received the highest certificate issued by CAF which gives him the authorisation to coach in any country he wants to work in.

Pitso is still successful after leaving Egypt where he won five trophies in less than two years. “There are teams that want me,” Mosimane said in response to reporters’ questions.

“I decided to take a break after years of working. It is a chance for me to relax and it is good. It is nice to be home,” said Mosimane with a smile.

Many people want Pitso to return to the national team, Bafana Bafana, after it was unable to qualify for the world cup and Afcon but there is little chance of that happening. “The interest to return to coaching is always there but I want to go to a place that suits me. I cannot leave a team that I took to the Champions League three times, and then go somewhere not good enough.”

“There are clubs that want me and national teams. The only thing I have not won yet is Afcon. I plan my things, I do not want to do things carelessly,” said Jingles who praised SuperSport for giving him his coaching debut. “I would not be where I am if I had not been given the opportunity by SuperSport. Safa called me after seeing me there. After coaching Bafana Bafana, I went to Mamelodi Sundowns that I brought back to the world stage,” said Mosimane.

Although he did not name the countries, Pitso said that there are countries that knocked on his door that have the potential to win big tournaments like the Africa Cup of Nations.
