Police looking for family of man who died in a fire

Detectives from SAPS Humansdorp are appealing for help from the public in finding the family members of a man who died in a fire in Kwanomzamo early morning on Saturday, May 6, and are trying to locate them.

On the specified date, it is said that about 03:30, neighbours noticed the scent of smoke. When they went to check, they discovered that the Kwanomzamo house close to the golf course had already been destroyed.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu, a police spokesperson, said the body of a 23-year-old male was discovered inside the burned-out house. The neighbours claim that the deceased is from Butterworth and is not from this area. The next of kin’s address is unknown. Nkosoxolo Katikati was the name of the deceased.

An inquest docket has been opened for further investigation.
