The deadlock is expected to be broken this weekend when Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns meet in a DStv Premiership match at FNB Stadium at 8pm on Saturday.

Amakhosi want to win this weekend’s game because they are still stinging from last week’s loss to AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Furthermore, Arthur Zwane and his players do not want to be humiliated by Sundowns, who defeated them 4-0 in Pretoria at the start of the season.

Sundowns, on the other hand, are unstoppable. After defeating SuperSport United 1-0 earlier this week, the players’ spirits are high in the Sundowns camp.

Sundowns’ work this season has been excellent, especially considering they have won 11 consecutive games. Amakhosi are struggling, and the pressure is mounting on their coach, because what is happening is not good for the fans.

Zwane faces a difficult task in motivating his players as they face a team that knows how to punish when given chances to score goals. Amakhosi must go to battle and fight to win so that they can compete in the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup at the end of the season.

Amakhosi will put their faith in players like Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Keagan Dolly, and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who performed well in the previous game in Durban.

Sundowns has players like Peter Shalulile, Neo Maema, Themba Zwane, and Cassius Mailula who score goals in spectacular fashion, making the task for Chiefs extremely difficult.

A tough battle is expected to begin in the midfield, where Samkelo Zwane and Yusuf Maart will face Tebogo Mokwena and Themba Zwane. It is critical for Chiefs to win if they are to improve on their performance from last season.

Zwane said that Chiefs will play to win on Saturday. “We take each game one at a time, and we go into each game looking for a win,” said Zwane, who promised fans that his team would improve.
