ABAFUNDI bezikolo zaseMpuma Koloni bawuphakamisile umgangatho wemfundo yeli phondo, oku kubonakele ngethuba iMpuma Koloni inyuka ukusuka ku68.1% ukuya ku73% kwiziphumo zeMatriki ka2021.

Kukwavakele ukuba ezinye zezifundo ezoyikwayo nezibonwa njengezinzima ngabafundi, isifundo seziBalo neNzululwazi (Maths & Physics) ziphunyelelwe emagqabini ngabantwana abaninzi.

Bayi-127 abafundi bakaGrade 12 baseMakaula abaphumelele iNzululwazi, kwabo bangama166 abe bebhalile.

“Engqondweni yabo [inzululwazi] inzima okanye kwathiwa inzima, ngenxa yoko baphela bengayithandisisi,” kutsho uMakaula.

Uthi ngenxa yokuba esi sifundo siba nemizekelo eyenziwa ngezandla (practicals) kwaye sikwasebenza ngamanani, izikolo ezininzi ukusuka kumabanga asezantsi ezilalini, azinazo izixhobo ezoneleyo ukwenza umdla kubafundi ekwenzeni esi sifundo.

“Ukunqongophala kwesiseko esisiso senza abafundi bayinyevulele isayensi,” kutsho uMakaula.

UMakaula, 29, uthi ukufundisa eMakaula kulula ngokuba banomphathi onombono ngesikolo asiphetheyo.

“Yinkokheli ehlakaniphileyo nekhutheleyo. Uwenza umsebenzi wokufunda nokufundisa ube lula. Yonke into esiyidingayo uyaqinisekisa ukuba ikhona, njengangoku, besicele ilabhoratri, nangona nje ingekagqitywa kodwa sele isenziwa. Ndahlala ndisithi ke mna unganguye utitshala ogqwesileyo, kodwa ukuba okukhokeleyo akagqwesi, ukugqwesa kwakho kulilize,” kutsho le nzalelwane yaseMvuzi kwakwidolophu yaKwaBhaca.

UMakaula wenze iBachelor of Science (BSc) nePGCE eFort Hare nalapho ebegxile kakhulu kwizifundo zeziBalo neNzululwazi.

Uthi ukufundisa bekulangazelela eselula, ethanda ukubhala kwanokufunda.

“Bendiye ndithathe abantakwethu abancinane ndidlale nabo isikolo, ndilinganise ootitshala bam basesikolweni samabanga aphantsi,” kutsho uMakaula efile yintsini.

UMakaula uyakonwabela ukufundisa kuba udibana neentlobo ngeentlobo zabantu.

“Kukunika ithuba lokufunda banzi ngabantu. Okona ndikonwabelayo kukuba uba yinxalenye yebali lobomi bomntu.”

Uthi ukufundisa kwenza ubani abe ngumntu wabantu, okwaziyo ukuthetha esidlangalaleni.

“Noxa nje ndingandwebanga ngokwendalo, kodwa ngoku ndingutitshala ndinesibindi sokuthetha,” kutsho uMakaula.

Uthi okumenza aqaqambe njengotitshala kwaye abafundi bakhe bathi gqolo ukuqhuba kakuhle, kukubeka uThixo phambili kwinto yonke ayenzayo.

“Ukuthembela kuMdali kokona kwenza ukuba ndibe nethemba ebantwaneni. Ndiyakholelwa kubo kwaye ndibaxelele ukuba ndiyakholelwa bangayenza le nto, oko kuyandinceda.”

Ukusebenzisa amaphepha eemviwo ezidlulileyo, ukudibanisa abafundi babe ngamaqela nokusebenza nabanye ootitshala, uthi uMakaula kokona kumncedileyo.

“Ndiyafunda kwabanye ootitshala. Ukubaculisa abantwana xa ndisenza isifundo esithile kubenza basikhumbule, kwanokwenza imizekelo ebonakalayo xa ndifundisa. Naxa bendibulisa xa ndingena eklasini baye benze iNewton Laws (esesinye sesifundo seNzululwazi). Ndiye ndisebenzise amaqhinga esasiwenza ngethuba nathi sisengabantwana,” kutsho lo titshala.
