The DStv Premiership season comes to a close in dramatic fashion. To finish the season in a strong position, each team is making an effort. Others, though, are battling to avoid being relegated. Eastern Cape’s Chippa United is one of the struggling teams. Chippa needs to earn all possible points in the final two games. This weekend, Lehlohonolo Seema and his men will engage in combat in Mpumalanga when they take on TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership encounter that kicks off at 3pm on Saturday.

Chippa United will fight to maintain their spot in the DStv Premiership after defeating Richards Bay by a score of 3-2. Chippa United now heads to TS Galaxy with optimism. Seema recently stated in an interview that he will fight to keep Chippa United competing at the highest level after being chosen to repair the harm Morgan Mammila caused.

“Our players are adamant about fighting and giving it their best on the field so Chippa can survive. This was clear from how we played,” Seema noted following the previous game’s victory.

“I am pleased with the way the players competed against Richards Bay, who had the lead. I have not seen Chippa win a game where they were behind for a very long time. This demonstrates that we haven’t given up, but we now need to get ready for a challenging assignment,” the coach said, acknowledging that the upcoming match at Mbombela Stadium will be very challenging.

“We are still at the bottom. We are going to fight to win in Mbombela even though the game will not be easy because we do not want to be where we are right now. It is encouraging to see young players do well when given the chance to play. Chippa must stay in the DStv Premiership, and we will do everything in our power to make sure of that,” Seema said.

Chippa is slightly above Maritzburg United, who are at the bottom of the log. On Saturday, every game will be played simultaneously.
