The Butterworth farmers’ cooperative, Lutshalendalo Agricultural Cooperative, is calling for your help, farmers and people of the Eastern Cape. They need everyone’s help to vote for them after being nominated for the Eastern Cape Hustlers Awards.
This is as a result of the farming that they carry out on 16 hectares of land in Butterworth villages. The cooperative’s leader, Anton Phiri, discusses how they go about their farming.
“We started cultivating in 2015 by borrowing people’s gardens; by 2020, we had our own land and are presently cultivating it,” Phiri explained. The awards are meant to support emerging businesspeople in a variety of industries, including agriculture.
“We cultivate high-quality cabbage, potatoes, spinach, lettuce, and sweet potatoes. We sell our produce to nearby stores including Steers, Boxer, and Spar,” Phiri stated.
He adds that people and businesses in Butterworth, Dutywa, and Centane purchase their produce.
Phiri pleaded with the public, “Please help us so that we can expand. We are appealing for votes since we have been nominated in the agricultural category of the Eastern Cape Hustlers Awards.”
Voting can be done by texting ECHA A14 to 40439. “Let us join forces, farmers and the general public, since we are all working together to generate food in the Eastern Cape,” he urged.
Inga Qeja, a farmer for Bhayi Holdings, cultivates a range of vegetables and maize in Mbokothwana, Tsolo. He offers his goods for sale in Tsolo, Mthatha, and Qumbu stores. Qeja stated that he has been nominated for the Eastern Cape Hustlers Awards and is asking for your vote as a farmer and Eastern Cape resident to win the award.
He can envision himself improving in his farming work and opening up job opportunities for other young people if he wins the award. You can offer Bayi Holdings a chance to win by texting ECHA A23 to the number 40439 to cast your support for him.
At Tsolo last year, farmers showcased their products and had the chance to learn more about agriculture thanks to an event organised by Qeja through his business, Bhayi Holdings.
In the Qumbu region, Butho Vuthela of Gedlumhlanga is a skilled farmer who simultaneously plants maize and vegetables. He works extensively on both his crop and livestock pursuits as a farmer. Moreover, Gedlumhlanga has been shortlisted as an emerging farmer nominee for the Eastern Cape Hustlers Awards.
Due to their efforts to improve their lives via farming, Vuthela and Gedlumhlanga are requesting your support in order to win this competition. By texting ECHA A66 to the number 40439, you can also cast your vote for Gedlumhlanga.
By supporting these farmers, you will provide them the chance to succeed in agriculture so long as you also give them encouragement. Your assistance is necessary for the expansion of our farmers.
