The parents of the pupils at Dutywa’s Mfezeko Senior Primary School were truly grateful when a native of the village, Mfezeko Lubabalo Mkiva, gave their children football kits and school shoes.

Colbert Landela Mkiva, the school’s founder who named it after his son, stated that children are the future of our country and the leaders of tomorrow. He said that education helps children’s skills grow even more.

“These children must be educated in order for their skills to grow, and we aim for collaboration between the learner, the parent, and the teacher. We have seen something in these children today that we are here; they are our future leaders, but they can develop when the parent cares for the child at home. So that the child enters the classroom prepared to study and to collaborate with the teachers in order to achieve their goals,” said Mkiva.

Mangalelwa Ngcayechibi, the headman of this area, expressed gratitude to those who offered assistance to the school, adding that this would inspire the children to be interested in learning.

Zingisa Jwambi, the principal of this school, stated that their dream in Mfezeko had come true since they had football teams, but it was difficult for them to continue playing because they lacked a kit.

She stated that when the children had to play, they used to play with their clothes because playing is crucial and part of a child’s growth.

Jwambi continued by saying that two underprivileged children who were with them that day were also helped.

“I am happy because our children’s and school’s wishes have been granted. They became even more interested when they arrived at the game wearing a kit, and they were thrilled to don the attire they were used to seeing on TV. They also felt important and valued. It did not excite them when they were playing with their clothes,” Jwambi remarked.

Jwambi expressed his gratitude to the Mkiva Founders for their aid to this school.
